Missions

Trula-Joy

Diaper bags are stuffed with love and care items from our church. We make boy bags and girl bags so that a specific need is met. Donations are collected throughout the year. Items most likely included are as follows: an outfit, book, grooming kit, blanket, and a toy. These bags often include a baby doll or a bear, handmade blankets and handmade toys. Our church supplies baby lotion, baby wash, wipes, diapers, and a few other things. Once the bags are prepared, they are delivered to the local health department to families in need. Delivers occur four times a year.

Duffle Bag Ministries

Duffle bags are filled with blankets, bibles, crafts, notebooks, toys, toiletries, and a few other things. These are made for kids that are in foster care hoping to return home or be adopted.. The church was informed that children go from home to home with black trash bags. We wanted these children to feel loved during this process, so we began this ministry. The duffel bags are taken to Isaiah 117 in Bradley County. We normally deliver them quarterly.

Food Pantry

The church has a food pantry to help people in times of need in their lives.

Hats & Other Items for Haiti/Africa

Haiti is a very poor place where people live in harsh conditions; weather goes from one extreme to the other. The winters are extremely cold through the months of November and January. Many Haitians are in need of hats to retain heat. Gloves and nursing pads are also necessities. Our church collects old clothing. The clothing is cut to make hats and other items. Talented people within our church work together to create items to send to Haiti one year and to Africa the next year. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Mats for the Homeless

Our church started making mats for homeless people in 2020 when one of our ladies felt burdened to use her talents to help people who are less fortunate. She asked for donations of plastic bags to make plarn. She advertised a get together to show people how to cut the bags and crochet them into bed mats. Check out the video to learn how she learned to make them.

Crossnet Baptist Network

The church supports Crossnet, which in turns shares the gospel locally. They help churches host block parties to reach people in the community, and they host the Ocoee Outreach during the summer months. Church groups come from all over the world to serve in Tennessee. Crossnet also hosts Project Helping Hands. In the month of October, interviews are conducted to determine the need. People from local churches then supply a box of food for families to be able to have Thanksgiving dinner. Then, during the month of December, they supply food and gifts for children and the elderly.

Tennessee Children’s Home

Tennessee Children’s Home has four campuses, all of them providing safe harbor, treatment and a Christian environment for displaced families and youth.
